Just kidding. That's more like grayish meat. And this post has nothing to do with eating zombies.
I was just having a talk with the Redding Moseleys, and we came to some interesting conclusions about why zombies are the best movie monsters. Here's a few of my faves:
1. They just don't give up. If you lock yourself in a room, they'll pound on the door until it breaks, or until their hands fall off. Then they'll pound with their stumps.
2. They're still people. In every bit of zombie fiction, someone comes across someone they know and/or love who has been zombified. There's just something very disconcerting seeing a pal who's missing a limb and hankerin' for your brain. And also, if your kid (or beloved cat, for those who apply) was a zombie, could you kill him, or would he ultimately turn you into the undead?
3. It's an isolation thing. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, you're in the minority. There might be a group of you, maybe two or three, maybe twenty, but compared to the lurching masses, you're all alone. And I don't care who you are, being truly alone is terrifying. Especially when everyone else wants to eat you.
So, question-are there any challengers to the zombie race for best monster?

I just loved that conversation. You and Marty gushing about how crazy cool zombies are and me sitting there deciding that I'll just come over to your house should a zombie war break out since it seems you'll know what to do. What are neighbors for anyway?
WEREWOLVES!!! They're HALF MAN HALF BEAST!!! They integrate into society seamlessly in the day, and wreak CARNAGE UNDER THE FULL MOON! And they have human intelligence and beast strength!
And that cat is creepy as hell.
Werewolves are sweet, but they're only dangerous once a month. At night, even.
And even when they're turned, they have a survival instinct(according to Heather). They can be deterred from eating you, whilst a zombie will walk through fire (literally) and suffer loss of limb without pausing.
Zombie werewolf, on the other hand...
On further review (the further review being 28 Days Later), I have a whole new respect for zombies. Hardcore. Enough to rent the sequel.
Good man, I'm glad to hear it. The sequel's opening sequence is intense- you're gonna love it.
